shaving with olive oil soap

what you need : olive oil soap + shaving bowl + shaving brush + beeswax ointment.


Taking your time for shaving can be an activity you are longing for, something nice for yourself!

Get started with a warm shower...or just splash warm water on your face to soften your beard hair. 

Soak the brush in warm water for a minute 

Add some warm water on your shaving soap and start swirling the brush in the shaving bowl 

       

The bubbles created will be
big at first, but as you keep on they will be smaller and smaller.

In less than a minute you'll have a thick lather.  The longer you whisk, the thicker the lather!

You are ready to apply the soaped brush across your face. Add a bit more water if necessary, for re-lathering.

Apply the soap to your face in circular motions.  The brush should glide smoothly on your skin and the lather should be thick. Make sure all areas are covered.

Shave with short strokes without exersising too much pressure and only in the direction of your hair growth to avoid irritations.You can re-apply shaving soap and repeat the process if necessary.

Use cold water on your face and neck and pat your skin with a soft towel.
Use the beeswax ointment as an after shave balm to soothe and moisturize your skin.

Body oil for moisturizing your body

Try it before going to bed at night on slightly damp skin after showering. It will  prevent your skin from drying out.

Tips!  

Mix body oil with some sea salt to create an exfoliant! Massage gently into dry and scaly skin.

Use the face cleansing oil to add weight and moisture to your hair. Just a few drops on the tip of your fingers, run them through your hair and you get pliable, soft hair.

Body oil can be used for sunburn  -while it is not used as suntan oil (it doesn't contain any sunscreen), it can help soothe your reddened skin.
